RE: Wyoming American Legion Baseball
Wyoming American Legion Baseball is off to its 2013 season already. The annual state meeting was held in Casper at the Parkway Plaza on Dec. 1 and 2 and the format for the upcoming season was voted on and will be implemented.
American Legion Baseball is very healthy here in our state and we look forward to fielding another 28 team season in 2013. This includes the addition of a new team from the Wind River Indian Reservation under the direction of Coach Mike Broadhead of Riverton.
The 2012 State Champions from Cheyenne AA, B and Wheatland will look to defend those championships in 2013 but have been promised heavy challenges for these titles from many teams next year. State Tournaments will be held next year in Cheyenne AA, Gillette A, and Sheridan B. Wheatland will also host the A Regional tournament which promises to be a very good and fun tournament. Teams to join Wheatland will come from Utah, Montana, Alaska, Idaho, and Oregon. This promises to be a very good competitive tournament and we encourage all to come out and enjoy some good baseball at the A Regional in Wheatland along with the State of Wyoming Tournaments.
All American Legion members this is your program here in Wyoming and we do encourage you to support your local program. These Wyoming programs and their coaches work very hard to keep approximately 500 Wyoming teen age boys very busy through out the summer.
All Legion Members please support your local program and be sure to come out to the old ball yard next summer for some exciting baseball, at its youthful best.
